MD Livin had the awesome opportunity to go visit the Boathouse Bar at Anchored Inn, this unique bar is a hidden local gem in the heart of Deale, Maryland. This awesome shore side bar is accessible by car or by boat. If water is your transport of choice they’re located in Rockhold Creek right off Herring Bay and have plenty of free boat docking slips. What’s so unique about this hidden local hangout is the fact that the bar itself is in the hull of an abandoned  boat that was sitting dry docked in Harrington bay.

The boat sits inside of a pavilion deck allowing the bartender to be face to face with the customer which is a feature many boat bars don’t have. The stools around the boat are made from old boat jacks with teak barstools. This bar continues to recycle rustic materials by using original barn ceiling beams as bench seating around their cozy gas fire pit. When the Anchored Inn first decided they wanted to have an outside bar a tiki bar was the original idea, but with the owner being Jim Weaver from Weaver Boatworks, the boat bar seemed like a no-brainer.

This bar is accompanied by a full drink menu along with a food truck that serves small handheld snacks and meals. Some go with the delicious signature drinks which include the Weaver 43, Mrs. Vicky and of course their famous orange crushes! Some of the more popular food items include their delicious TCB nachos made with tater tots and their tacos. The food truck is a branch off a local restaurant located around the corner called the South County Café, however the food trucks menu is exclusive to the Boathouse!

Aside from the friendly staff, great drinks and delicious food, the boathouse also offers local events as well! On the last Wednesday of every month they host a bring your Wheels to Deale event where people from near or far can come with cars new and old to show them off and have a few drinks. They also occasionally host live music events such as local singer John Luskey who is scheduled to perform a few times over the summer! We can’t wait to come back and hope to see you there!
